Sadly not, Anthony Hopkins leaves me very cold (a RADA version of Arnie wink ) as an actor and I suspect I was watching something else.

But I do like a lot of his work. I first became aware of him when he did a TV play for BBC Wales called Heartland (1989) about a Welsh dairy farmer who is persuaded to buy a bigger herd and a lot more modern equipment for the dairy. But then the EU (or EEC as it probably was then) decides to impose milk quotas. Steve |

A new study by Monash University in australia has found that red-haired women have begun to surpass the Aussie icon of blonde hair & blue eyes in the sex appeal stakes.
They noted that the rise to prominence of red haired Hollywood stars such as Nicole Kidman was an indication of the new sexy status of the red headed female population. Yet natural redhead's make up only 3% of the Australian female population but statistics show the number of bottle redhead's is on the increase. Can't say i ever fancied Lucille Ball, or Patsy Palmer for that matter..... Dave. |

I shall appear extremely 'sad' (in it's modern sense) but no matter, I'll share this with you lot! When I became 30 [24-12-93] I had this very male daydream of inviting a dozen or so of my favourite female actresses/stars etc to a party - and, yes, as it was a dream they'd all be there to celebrate my birthday....as I was extremely single at the time I took the day dream one stage further - who would I 'cop off' with at the end (yes, it WAS very much a dream!)....what a choice I had - Julie Christie, Natassja Kinski, Leone Mellinger, Kate Bush, Katie Manning, Rosaline Lander (Ms 1980s Renault ad), Jessica Lange, Jenny Agutter, Kirsten Scott Thomas, Catherine Zeta Jones, Ali McGraw....and who did I pick as the best looking ???? Judi Bowker. Ten years on I think I could fit Kylie around the table, but my choice would still be Judi ...so now you know

Thanks David for the memory starter - i'd forgotten how gorgeous Judi Bowker was, although she did seem a little on the 'innocent' side.
Check out www.geocities.com/SoHo/easel/2350/ for a website dedicated to Judi. I find actress Cherie Lunghi really sexy. Maybe it's the half Italian bloodline she has but i've always fancied sharing my meatballs with her. [ 21. November 2004, 02:49: Message edited by: Johnny English ] |

Finally got round to watching SANDS OF THE KALAHARI last night, and mighty impressed with the luscious Susannah York - can't remember her looking more sexy. I've always considered her a bit of a cold fish so this was an eye-opener!

Bitty Schram,Tony Salhoub's sidekick in Monk (which is tucked away between The Rockford Files and Sherlock Holmes),one of the most entertaining programmes on television. And from soapland,Emma Atkins, who plays Charity Tate in Emmerdale (now she is one ideal walking partner in the dales wink . Ta Ta Marky B thumbs_u

Ms Bowker was born and bought up in Zambia I believe. Many actresses who play classical English roles well come from the colonies; Alice Krige, Janet Suzman, Diana Kent. |
