Your right she has sex appeal but so does the lovely Dawn played by actress Lucy Davis.
She is so feminine and very sexy.
Lucy Davis (daughter of Jasper Carrott) also plays Hayley in The Archers on BBC Radio 4 where she is very mumsy & sensible.

How could you have overlooked the heartstopping Suzy Kendall (To Sir With Love)?

............Back to Under Siege, I nearly spilled my tea when I first watched it!!!! Mind you, it is the only good part of the film (which is otherwise cack)

To add to the thread, Susan George has already been mentioned, and Jenny Agutter, how about her Railway Children co-star Sally Thomsett???

Another that comes to mind, Stepahine Beacham was a real stunner.

Has anyone mentioned Justine Lord?
Or Jacqueline Ellis?

:) :)

I need a cold shower....... wink

Does anyone remember the lovely actress Vera Day who appeared in many British films of the 50's/60's including 'Watch It Sailor','A Stitch In Time','Hell Drivers' and even showed up in 'Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrells' in 1998.

Her face brings back many memories of British films of the time.

I've been catching up on my favorite James Bond movies over Christmas and was quite taken aback to be reminded how many beautiful women have appeared in these movies.
Going by personal tastes only I have compiled my top 20 favorite Bond girls.

1.Ursula Andress (Dr. No)
2.Shirley Eaton (Goldfinger)
3.Maryam D'Abo (The Living Daylights)
4.Carey Lowell (Licence to Kill)
5.Barbara Bach (The Spy Who Loved Me)
6.Halle Berry (Die Another Day)
7.Fiona Fullerton (A View To Kill)
8.Honor Blackman (Goldfinger)
9.Marquerite Lewars (Dr.No)
10.Talisa Soto (Licence to Kill)
11.Akiko Wakabayashi (You Only Live Twice)
12.Eunice Gayson (Dr.No)
13.Lana Wood (Diamonds Are Forever)
14.Claudine Auger (Thunderball)
15.Lois Chiles (Moonraker)
16.Daniela Bianchi (From Russia With Love)
17.Izabella Scorupco (Golden Eye)
18.Sophie Marceau (The World Is Not Enough)
19.Rosamund Pike (Die Another Day)
20.Samantha Bond - in my opinion the sexiest Miss Moneypenny.

I've probably forgotten to include a few, there are so many stunners.
Anyone agree/disagree with my ratings?

It's funny how i never really thought of great actress GLYNIS JOHNS as being 'sexy' in the past.
Yet while checking details of her career i saw photo's of her that back up claims that she was once listed as one of the worlds most beautiful actresses.
I also didn't realise that apart from film she was also a major star of stage & Broadway musicals.I didn't even know she could sing but she has actually won a Tony award for her performances and apparantly has a great voice.
An amazingly talented lady.

Definitely sexy. Just have a look at Miranda (1948). She showed she could do "serious" in Frieda (1947) and "funny" in Mary Poppins (1964).

Stephen Sondheim wrote "Send in the Clowns" in his show "A Little Night Music" especially for her and her short-breathed, wistful voice.

Just read an article in the Daily Express magazine about Liza Goddard. 55 years old but looking twenty years younger.

She (Liza G) is still going strong onstage ; seen her a couple of times recently and she's very good ! thumbs_u

But back to the thread - reviewing my DVD of BIGGLES (no titters please DB7 - it WAS Peter Cushing's last major film...) causes me to ask whatever happened to the beautiful actress FRANCESCA GONSHAW. She of the gorgeous dark eyes, lovely long tresses and sense to jump out of 'Allo 'Allo as soon as she could ?

I have a massive crush on Susan Shaw, even though she's been dead nearly thirty years. She should,ve been a star but after her husband Bonar Colleano died in a car crash she went on the sauce and drank herself to death. Her screen charisma, beautiful smile and depth of acting ability knocks Diana Dors (Rank's No;1 at the time)into a cocked hat. Unfortunately she was one of those people who have it in them to make a tragedy of their lives; as if she went around with a sign on her back saying,' dont save me'. A few people tried (Stanley Baker - Diana Dors and Alan Lake - Alfie Bass) but you can only, literally, lift someone out of the gutter so many times. She died in poverty, alone, in a one room bedsit. Her story is very similar to that of Veronica Lake though Susan was a far better actress

Hi there,

How about Barbara Steele. She looks eerily seductive as the witch Asa in "Mask Of Satan" 1960 and her soft alter ego Katya. Equally gorgeous but in "The Terror Of Dr Hitchcock" She starred in a lot of Italian made horror movies also. There are quite few websites about her with photo galleries though these two movies I feel show her at her best. Rick

Barbara Steele was certainly quite stunning in her time ; an unconventional beauty who gave producers and casting directors in the UK something of a headache when trying to place her in a part.

I remember her playing the would-be femme fatale in the Donald Sinden/Peggy Cummins light comedy YOUR MONEY OR YOUR WIFE - she didn't seem particularly at ease with the role, and this is the impression one got with most of her British movies.

Good for her that (as you say Rick) she found her niche in the Italian horros thereafter ; meaty 'villainess' roles that suited what I thought was a strong personality.
