Dave

I'm totally with you on this one. I was lucky enough to meet her and get her autograph a couple of years back. She's still a good looking (but forthright!) lady.

You should at least spell her name properly. It's Mathilda May.

Is she the poster girl for the poppy day appeal this year?

Always sexy, and the nicest lady I had ever met it has to be Diana Dors. I was but 13 years old at the time but she was a super person and although old at that time, full of charm. Its Diana for me. Im now 45 by the way....

Dors was one of the first named right at the start of this long thread. Quite rightly too. And I still think one of her best performances was in beating up Jack Regan in The Sweeny. I think they all had great fun in that episode :)

Oh, it's great. Regan and Carter are after some small time tea leaf, a cheeky little Cockney chappie, but he's due to get married. So when R&C lift him and take him in for questioning, the bride's mother - played by Dors - is none too pleased and storms into the local nick to tell them so in no uncertain terms.

There are a few more confrontations and those brave lads from The Sweeny, ready to face any number of armed blaggers, have to dive out the back exit and run away from her a few times.

It all builds to a great, almost slapstick, climax.

The episode is called Messenger of the Gods (series 4, episode 1) and was first broadcast on 7th September 1978. It's available on DVD from Amazon.co.uk and probably from other places.

I recently found an interview (ont tinternet) with Dinah where she told how she met Jenny Agutter before the making of the Railway Children, quite amusing.

The seem to have so much fun making that film but who is hiding behind the doctors gate ?
