Does anyone remember sexy actress Jenny Hanley?
Daughter of screen greats Dinah Sheridan and Jimmy Hanley.
Jenny disappeared from our screens in the late seventies to devote time to bringing up a family.

Dave.

Yes, I remember JH, lovely lady. I also remember her hair beginning to 'thin out' on her crown. I wonder if the poor lass had had some sort of 'therapy' that caused this and she disappeared for that reason?

I believe Jimmy Hanley died at an early age - fags, no doubt!!

Ah, the lovely Jenny Hanley- star of one of my all time fave Brit horrors, THE FLESH AND BLOOD SHOW, as well as of course illimnating our screens weekly on MAGPIE. And don't get me started on Susan Stranks....

I've been going through a major Jan Francis rediscovery recently, particularly her raunchy turn in early 90s obscurity THE GHOSTBUSTERS OF EAST FINCHLEY- which I recently found a few episodes of whilst trawling. Somehow, she still manges to do odd things to me that Felicity Kendal, despite being rather lovely, never managed.

God, I sound like a right sad git, don't I?

I have a favourite British actress for most decades, actually.

1930s- Ida Lupino
1940s- Googie Withers
1950s- Anna Massey (well, 1959 anyway)
1960s- Judy Geeson
1970s- Linda Hayden
1980s- Jan Francis
1990s- Sarah Stockbridge
2000s- Keeley Hawes

And now I sound like an even sadder git.

Hi Jim,

Jenny Hanley apparantly still works on UK radio and is a regular presenter on BBC Berkshire. She is also heard on the Radio 2 program 'Are You Sitting Comfortably?'
I remember Jenny had a nice voice so it comes as no surprise to hear that she is also in regular demand for voice over work.

I saw a fairly recent picture of her and you'd be pleased to know Jim that her hair looked OK.

Dave.

Not British and I've not seen a great deal of her acting apart from the dancing in Sin City, but Jessica Alba sure ticks the 'sexy actress' box.

Hard to believe she'd end up an extremely rotund fairy in an Adam Ant video.

Yes and who can forget the 1969 hit single featuring Jane with Serge Gainsbourg titled 'Je T'aime....Moi Non Plus'?
The track was banned by many radio stations due to Jane's sexy moans and groans heard on it. Her sighs of "Je T'aime" also sent shivers through many a male listener.
The record was deemed 'too hot' to play back then but sounds very tame by today's standards.

You can find the song and the lovely JB on Youtube.
She did mention that once in London the Cabbie recognised her and said that one of his children was conceived while Je'Taime was playing.

The only memories I have of Birkin or daughter Gainsbourg, are primarily through their films, and boy, what memories!

Here's to you Mrs Robinson.

Anne Bancroft was third choice for the role behind Jeanne Moreau and Doris Day

Jane Birkin first drew attention as one of the two girls in the studio with David Hemmings in 'Blow Up', I believe.
