No one has mentioned the very lovely Barbara Shelley, who actually slept with three fellers at the same time in Blind Corner! (very racy for 1961) a great little film.
Any good photos??

In my book scary makes them more interesting and if one is mainly remembered as a character often dressed as a dominatrix with a penchant for interplanetary genocide it only adds to the attraction. However, she lives abroad now so there is little chance of her hammering on my door at 2 in the morning accompanied by a squad of Federation troopers. Pity.

Cant understand though how she had so little to say in the great film Quatermass and the Pitt, she should have had some good responsible lines in that film

She's lovely - a wonderful lady and a real character. Whenever I've had the pleasure of meeting her she has always seemed to have a dashing young man in tow. A different chap on each occasion...

Another picture of Barbara Shelley.

I haven't see the film 'Blind Corner' for many years but I remember Ronnie Carroll, the popular Brit singer of the sixties, making an appearance in it.

The lovely Ms. Shelley hasn't been too well of late - at the Hammer Films event in Bray last summer they sent a card with good wishes signed by all of the attendees. Needless to say there was hardly a white gap on the card.

I hope things might have improved since then. She was a stunning actress who convinced you that there was something going on inside, unlike many so-called stars of today...

She can be a mischief too - in the nicest possible way - I remember years ago asking her a particular question, to which she gave a particular reply which made my jaw most obviously drop. The twinkle in her eye was lovely as she registered that she'd had the desired effect...

Must admit I could sit and talk to her all day.

I did tape all the old B-films that were shown some years ago - only a few although thousands were made and some were far better stories sometimes than the A feature with better acting! Blind Corner was quite good. I could suggest to television producers to consider re-making the old Bs as TV stories - one hour in length and would be great television. Also run again the Edgar Lustgarten series - great
I did omit the 'habitual' song that had to be included in some of the Bs
The musical score in Blind Corner was very intelligent.

Hi Rob,
Did you ever watch her doing the Wainwright Walks in the Lake District? It stamped her as one of the best presenters on television. Like Ray Mears (in style,not looks),she made the subject the focal point and not herself,although I couldn't keep my eyes off her many a times.
