Despite being in their fifth decade (just, in the case of Ms Davis b.1956) these two fine actresses are still as glamourous and appealing as some of these young upstarts, in fact more so because they can act properly!

You're quite correct but I was being kind to the ladies. You should never reveal a lady's decade! They look more like 5 decades than 6, and Geena Davis had twins at 48 years old! I'm in my 5th decade but just look decayed.

Beauty is only skin deep but it must be murder for the ageing glamorous actresses to keep up a good profile - and body - so as to keep themselves in work.
Male actors can always seem to get away with that older look but film studios seem to be always tough on parts for the older female stars.
A case in point - the wrinkly Clint Eastwood is still being depicted in his movie roles as the ladykiller who sweeps much younger women off their feet.
Yet you very rarely see the roles reversed with the older actresses chasing and winning younger men.

In reality, many younger blokes (like those on this forum) would fall over themselves to get a date with many of those glamorous but more mature females.

Huh? Not recently. In True Crime he was the older-man/ playboy (a Clint-self-critique, in my opinion) --but that was nearly 7 years ago, and in 1995, Streep was on relatively even ground with Clint -agewise- at least the character was.
In later films, such as Midnight in the Garden... & Mystic River , he's had younger actors as Eastwood-proxy. And in the former of those, he has John Cusack romancing his real-life daughter Alison.. if any sick minds out there want to read something into that!
