I disagree. Violette was often noted as being quite pretty, but not a stunner that nobody could ignore.

One of the main points about the story was that Violette was a fairly ordinary "girl next door" and because of a few special skills, like the ability to speak French like a native (her mother was French), she did what many other British women also did.

And another fine actress, who died far too young, was Romy Schneider, who managed to navigate a great career, from teen sex kitten, to mature diva, in a short span of time (by far her best decade was the 'Seventies - you can just about see any of her movies from that time, and see one the great performances of the decade) :
