I'd like to give a special mention to Gail Grainger who appeared in Carry On Abroad (the best Carry On film IMHO) A lovely gal. Does anyone know whatever happened to her? Even the Carry On site ( www.carryonline.com , an excellent site, by the way)have turned up nothing. She seems to have just disappeared!

Gail Grainger was an absolute corker ! One of the prettiest girls EVER to grace the CARRY ON series.

Sadly it looks like it was about all she ever did ; probably went off and married some rich (and very,very lucky!) businessman somewhere, no doubt.

Ah well - at least we can still slip our ABROAD discs in again (ooh...Matron!) to see her at her peak. :)

Another actress of that same period I liked was ANDREA ALLAN - she turne up in Terry-Thomas' SPANISH FLY and was even sexier than Gabrielle Drake on Moonbase in UFO blush (but sadly just for one episode...)

I have to put in a mention for the beautiful, Merle Oberon. Although born in India she did appear in quite a few Brtish films in her career, a paticular favourite of mine is "The Divorce of Lady X"(1938) with Laurence Olivier. She really didn't quite regain the fame she had after "Wuthering Heights", but still she was a stunner! Now I wonder if anyone can help me out? Ms. Oberon made a film - sometime in the 70's I believe(early 70's she sadly died in 1979) I remember it being a bit obscure with scenes of pigs being cut open an stuff! eek! , could this film be "Interval"(1973)? If anyone remembers these sort of scenes in this movie(or if anyone remembers the movie at all!)could you let me know? Thanks, all the best,Decks.

I recently watched the film "The Beauty Jungle" (1964) starring Ian Hendry and was instantly reintroduced to the stunning beauty of British actress JANETTE SCOTT.
The daughter of Dame Thora Hird & married at different times to singer Mel Torme and TV personality Jackie Rae.
She seems to have retired from acting in the late 60's. She is now 66 & i'd like to bet she's still a stunner.
Absolutely gorgeous & a true English rose.
