If the credits didn't say it was John Gielgud, I'm not sure I would ever have been convinced he was Ashenden, never mind Malcolm in the middle all those generations later........
The more I see of Sir John..... the more he reminds me of
Malcolm Muggeridge.....
his voice is very similar to Malcolm too !

With Malcolm Muggeridge you feel that if... as a young man... he had entered the church to train as a priest
(instead of entering fleet street as a pen pusher ) he would have made it all the way to Archbishop of Canterbury....
with his looks... that amazing voice.... his self assurance.... he was a shoe in for the part.
But in the end he got his share of fame as a TV pundit and a regular on Any Questions !
Likewise with Sir John... with those looks and that voice.... definitely Bishop material !
