    The Return of Richard McNeff

he is on screen for about five seconds but less noticeable. His only task is to arrest Joe Melia for intimidating a witness:

"Alright, Lisky. Take a walk with us."

That's the best I could do, I'm afraid. Is the actor next to him Bernard Barnsley? I might repost this at 'Who Are These Policeman?'.

Denis Holmes will probably be the next actor I'll be introducing here but this week I've been Getting to Know the famous 'dance troupe', and those that replaced them on Top of the Pops (containing the same members mostly). I think they can be classed as actresses as well as dancers in some of their more serious interpretations/routines, like the one for Do You Know Where You're Going To?. There is a thread for the much-missed group here, where I might have more to say, but it's only in the last few days that I've become a fan and the 'girls' are still new to me.

Meanwhile, Alison Hughes's appearances are sadly fading away in the memory, just over a month after that favourite post. I should put them all together to remind me. A compilation for YouTube, maybe?

You seem not to be around at the moment, Cornershop? For your return, here is a shot of Alison Hughes as the maid in The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes episode
The Case of the Mirror of Portugal:

Hello there, Euryale. My computer broke down again, due to a fault in the start-up, and I am still suffering with a heavy cold so no 'in depth' posts for a few more days.

Yet another "million thanks" to you, firstly for remembering darling Alison and for that excellent capture. Very accurate. The 1970s was certainly her most active decade. More appearances have turned up on DVD since my tribute - Spyder's Web, Village Hall, The Main Chance - and I'll be seeing her soon in an episode of Callan Even if she's in these shows for a few seconds I'll be happy. Likewise Frank Tregear, though to a lesser extent perhaps!

How fascinating to be reminded of my (very) belated interest in Pan's People last Summer. Things have moved on since then but I still might put together the 'Getting to Know You' post I had in mind. Odd that Mary was one of the first I recognised, long before Andrea - who was much earlier.

All this time has passed since I first mentioned Denis Holmes and I still haven't done any captures to help me remember him. I'm sure I will come up with something eventually but Ingrid Hafner, who died very tragically, has been far more prominent in my thoughts. I've seen Ingrid several times on DVD - most recently in the B-film Dilemma - and yet she hasn't quite established herself in the memory yet (reminiscent of Hilary Tindall?). An ideal subject then but I really should know her by now.
