Of course, those of us who post in the quiz threads, can regard this as our contribution to the cause

Thanks, MovieDude - I'm sure George turns up as a policeman in a few other seasons as well (do you think he owned his own uniform??).
It was this very forum that first identified Maxwell Craig for me, I'm much indebted. I'm not familiar enough with Reg to ID him confidently yet...

BTW, Harbottle, in case I wasn't clear, thank you very much indeed for your mug shot collection; it's a marvellous piece of work.

Most of us (coppers) owned our own uniforms in those days but the badges and buttons were not real police regulations.

    Aitch,

THE AVENGERS and THE NEW AVENGERS mug shots: a fine body of work there, dissolute! I agree with MovieDude's three additional identifications for NEW and in a quick sprint through the collection, I think I can provide a number of further names and corrections.

Thanks all, any additions or amendments are most welcome. I've spent 16 years building, updating and improving the site, and I guess I'll never stop doing so.

I've always had in mind a database where you could type in, for instance, "bald fat middle-aged man" and get, say, Michael Nightingale in return. (BTW, I've just seen his lookalike from a recent thread in The Avengers - The Bird who Knew too Much - playing a male model who turns up too late to Kenneth Cope's photo studio and discovers Steed has stepped in in his stead).

Harbottle? I looked at your pictures and decided to move the folder to another drive. No problem until I tried to delete the original folder. Now for some reason I cannot delete the folder from c:drive but I can delete the contents. I can delete all of it from any other drive. Is there some special way of deleting this folder or something hidden that I should know about? Norton Anti-virus claims there is a compressed file still in the folder but I cannot see it.

In the windows explorer (or what we used to call file manager)
    choose
    tools
    Folder options
    choose the
    View tab

    somewhere towards the middle
    Hidden Files and Folders
check the View Hidden Files and Folders
Harbottle's zip file should now magically appear and you can put it to the sword

Did anyone else think of the incarcerated connotation when seeing the title of this thread? I'm mildly disappointed.

Thanks for that Sloth! It's OK now. Panic over! I think it was my own fault actually. 'Old computor' plus bad habits etc. All I did to get rid of it was to shut the thing down completely instead of just putting it on stand-by. It sorted out other little quirks at the same time.

    Thanks again.

    Dude

    Season 2 : Cast
    Season 3 : Cast

Bear in mind they're not intended for public consumption and may be a bit broken here or there (I generated them with a script and haven't checked everything went as planned properly). they're cross-referenced with my pages for regular guest actors and appearance in a few other productions (Dr Who, Danger Man, The Saint, etc...) The cross-referencing is a bit out of date for Seasons 1-3 as I've recently gone through those, aided with camera scripts, and identified a whole bunch of additional extras, who are often credited in the script but not on screen.

I'm about to launch bigger 250x250 images for Season 3 (and maybe even 500x400 copies), as soon as I finish recapping the last three episodes, so watch this space...

Got myself in a muddle over Bob Raymond, Richard Cuthbert and another craggy gent in the process though... Richard is a short bald man with alarming eyebrows, yes?
Okay, for your delectation, I have updated seasons 2 & 3 to be 250X250 in these guides, and 500x400 or 400x500 (mostly, some extras are smaller, the stars are 800x640) from the individual episode pages. Hope it's of use to you all. WARNING: each episode is now 5MB of images at 250x250, and around 10.5MB at the large size.

You're welcome! I notice I said "each episode is 5MB", of course I meant "each series"! Hope I didn't cause any heart attacks.
