"2point4 Children" was a great series. And they made some classic episodes like when they did the Blues Brothers act in the school play. Brilliant stuff

It always saddens me that Gary Olsen left us all so soon. Loved him in 2 Point Four Children and the other Andrew Marshall comedy Health and Efficency.
I have to say that 2 Point Four got a little bit too smug as the series wore on but there was some very inventive stuff in the early years and some great supporting players who dfifted in and out Julia Hills, Roger Lloyd Pack, Liz Smith and Kim Benson as Ben's priceless plubmbers mate Christine.
There was a superb moment when Patsy Byrne (Nursie)in Black Adder appeared in one episode as a woman on the bus who sang the song of the Whirling Dervish.
Also liked the practical joker mate of Ben who diedn and had all the mourners at his funeral dressed as Star Trek characters because he wasa Treckie.

I always wondered about the daughter in this excellent series. Did Claire Buckfield ALWAYS play the part or did Julie take over here and there...??Originally Posted by Steve Crook

Claire Buckfiled played the part of Jenny Porter from Series three onwards, the role was originally played by Clare Woodgate who was in series one and two.Originally Posted by cully
A bit off topic I know but...you know the actress who played his wife in 2.4 (can't think of her name) I seem to remember her having quite a large nose in her earlier stuff, but not later on.
Unless it was my imagination....did she get a nose job?
The actress who played Bill Porter was Belinda Lang.Originally Posted by Caine
Not sure abou the nose job.
