She was a great friend of Margaret Rutherford and in fact borrowed one of her capes for her role as white witch Miss Hawthorne when she appeared in the DOCTOR WHO story "The Dæmons" in 1971.
Do any posters have any information about the character actress Damaris Hayman? I can find very little information about her.

She has a short Wikipedia entry here, MIM.

She was interviewed in a programme I saw in the last month or so, but I can't remember what it was. Highly likely to have been something from BBC Four. I have a feeling it also featured the late Miriam Karlin.

She was interviewed for the most recent Hancock biography - I think she was one of the few people he hadn't completely alienated by the mid 60s.
Thanks for the information and link to another Brit Movie thread. Is she still working?I have a fondness for character actors and actresses who don't seem to get the recognition they deserve.
Yay! Me too. Damaris Hayman, Barbara Hicks, Ann Way... not forgetting the gentlemen; Ferdy Mayne, Peter Copley, Peter Cellier... Where would British cinema be without them
Incidentally, here's a nice pic I found of Damaris Hayman. She was interviewed alot for the biography of Margaret Rutherford.
