Not normally thought of as a creepy actor, but he could creep with the best of 'em

Think of him in London Belongs to Me as creepy Mr Squales. When he sits down for tea with Gladys Henson you (and she) aren't sure if he's going to kiss her or kill her. That was such an impressive performance that it was copied by Alec Guinness in The Ladykillers and many people thought that Alastair was in that film.

Alastair's quite creepy at the end of The Terror (1938) too:

'Mr. Kidd' (Putter Smith) and 'Mr. Wint' (Bruce Glover) in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER (1971)

Putter Smith's only screen appearance (IMDb)

I always found Richard O'Sullivan very creepy and could never understand how he became stud muffin in later years. He was very convincing as the hospital creep in the Doctor in the House TV series I recall. Perhaps I got the prejudice from that.

Oh, bite your tongue Moor Larkin. Look at that face. I don't know what the product is but I'm off to buy it!

I agree with him being a creep in Dr in the House but not a spooky creepy. I just love his comment to Dr Loftus about Waring being a thief - "Sir, Waring is a tea bag".

I always thought Dirk Bogarde was creepy as the father in Our Mothers House. Hair combed forward does nothing for me. And the funny hat he wears. Come to think of it, he was creepy in The Servant as well. Tingles down the spine
