Loved her as the White Lady in The Ghosts of Motley Hall.

Have to say that my favourite actress is the brilliant and underated Sheila Steafel. All her performances are superb and she's worked with the greats of british comedy like Tommy Cooper, Frankie Howerd and Eric Sykes.
Loved her as the White Lady in The Ghosts of Motley Hall.

And Spike Milligan and Kenny Everett...
I must say I always found Sheila really attractive - I'd forgotten how much, but recently saw her again in a small part as a journalist in Quatermass and the Pit... Absolutely stunning!

Trivia of the day - she was Roy Plomley's last castaway.
She was a favourite of mine from childhood.Sheila seemed to be a staple of comedy shows of the late 60's but she also made a great baddie in the Dr Who Daleks Invasion Earth film and made at least two memorable performances on The Good Old Days.
Here she gets flirtatious with Felix in Oh Brother

What an unusual looking lady, isn't she?
Is this episode available on the Oh Brother dvd? Thanks for the info as well as this appearence of Sheila's isn't listed on IMDB.
Married until the early 60s to Harry H. Corbett if I recall correctly.
I think it was Sheila who readily allowed all and sundry into the house each time the doorbell rang in one of those 1970s Public Information Films before exasperatedly refusing entry to the final caller, only to be told; "But I'm your husband!"
Then they dash into the living room together only to find everyone gone and the place stripped bare.
One of those ubiquitous faces who popped up on our screens all the time when I was young. She was a talented lady with great comedy expression and timing.
I still tend to confuse her with Jacqueline Clarke, female stooge to Dave Allen.
