I was thinking of Everett.

I think that Jodie Foster is one of those people who doesn't actually advertise her sexuality but doesn't go out of her way to hide it - surely, that is how it should be?

Do you think we should start a new thread with this subject - only it seems to have overtaken 'oldest working actor'! (Van Johnson has an awful lot to answer for!)

Jodie goes for quality not quantity. She has the pick of the scripts and only works when she really wants to .... that's a real 'A list' star.

I'll start this as a new thread as it's strayed away from the original.

As already mentioned, beloved Betty Driver who will be 88 this year, Britain's best loved Barmaid since 1969, plus she had her own Radio and TV shows in the 50's and has appeared in a few Films too!

Mum told me she well known on the Cabaret circuit up here in the North in the 60's for her singing voice and her "blue jokes".

What a super picture of Betty - she did indeed have a lovely singing voice as her remaining 78rpm records show. Her earliest records could best be described as "Gracie Fields imitations", but as the 30's progressed she sang many beautiful ballads, none more beautiful then "I fall in love with you every day" recorded in 1938. This has to be one of my most treasured 78s. Anyone who would like to hear this I'd be happy to send a free cd copy, just let me know via a PM.

Rather sad in a way that Corrie's three older, long standing female stars (Betty, Barbara Knox and Eileen Derbyshire) were all featured in last Friday's swansong episode for Vera Duckworth.
