Nice one, Shirlgirl, I agree about lansoprazole. When ever I take over a new patient I get the medic to take them off that one and do a new diet care plan!

Shame on you orpheum , this IS the Brit movie forum and Shirl girls comments ARE related to the thread ,not only that they are educated and informative .The reason I spend time and enjoy time on this forum is that there are so many members that are so full of information , (not only about films ) that they have given me so much food for thought , I feel enlightened most times I visit
Shirls and bats opinion about the drug Lansoprazole ( which my wife and I both take ) has reached me in a way my GP hasn't ,and if I can make the changes in my life so I don't have to take this drug I will , Is that a bad thing orpheum ?
I would like to say a big thanks to Shirl , and all the educated ,informative members whose posts never contribute to my gastric reflux

I May be getting older ,but I refuse to grow up

Speaking of diets, Sir John Mills and Evelyn Laye were both fans of the Hayes diet (not mixing protein with carbs). SJM was invalided out of the army with a stomach ulcer and he attributes being able to get back to work quickly with adopting the regime.
Sir John lived till he was 97 and Evelyn Laye till she was 96. Both were working in their nineties.

Regards

Shirl's opinion about medical things was related to the death of a film actor. Anyway, anything Shirl writes should be treated with respect and not dismissed.

Thank-you very much gentlemen, for your nice and pleasant comments.

Meanwhile, police still believe Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, but the family is still waiting for the results of a post-mortem examination.

The police report states that diazepam (valium), lorazepam, zopiclone and temazepam (a controlled drug here in the UK) were found in his room. Zopiclone is a sleeping pill (not a very strong one) while the rest are benzo based anxiolytics. If the poor guy had trouble sleeping it's quite possible he tried a combination to help him relax before taking the sleeper. If so, it is a really tragic accident, but his doctors should not have prescribed all of those to him at the same time. It must be a terrible time for his family.

Four drugs, four different doctors? Hard to believe one doctor would supply him with scripts for all of them - if so, he or she deserves to be struck off!

There are some confusion over why one of the Olsen twins was contacted after the masseuse found Ledger dead, and had not telephoned 911.

I would imagine, with his film-star schedule, he would have a doctor in most major cities...these bottles may well have been acquired over a period of months on a publicity tour, for example. What is most relevant here, of course, is not the contents of his room, but the contents of his stomach. No doubt all will become clear eventually.

Not really a laughing matter, I know, but if someone finds me on the point of death, an Olsen Twin would be a nice idea. Either would do, not fussy...
