Care to offer an opinion on Mr. Bean or Flowery Twats. Otherwise I have no way to gage your good taste.

Hmm, I loved Mr Bean when it was first on (saw it live on stage, too, and loved that), but I must admit I've never found it that funny when I've seen repeats more recently. Perhaps with the exception of the Christmas special, which has several amusing moments.

I love Flowery Twats! It's one of those shows where you watch the repeats and you're cracking up because you know exactly what's going to happen next. The whole cast was excellent, but I particularly appreciate Cleese.

Oh you do have good taste then.

No one ever mentions Rowan A's excellently understated (for him) performance in The Tall Guy. You know, that film where, during the sex scene between Jeff Goldbloom and Emma Thompson, Mel Smith had to phone the property department to ask "What's the right kind of glue for sticking buttered toast to a bare arse?"

. . . and new thumbscrews for me . . .

Yeah, he was pretty funny in that.

I liked the film, too - it had some great moments (Elephant!), even if it didn't quite hang together over all.

I liked Fawlty Towers and I liked the character of Basil Fawlty, but I didn't like the Basil Fawlty/Q that Cleese brought in the James Bond films. In fact I believe the character along with Miss Moneypenny has been dropped from any future Bond films.

Wink Rowan Atkinson

While RA is not to all tastes, I enjoy his stuff and have just seen Mr Bean's holiday or goes to france, whatever it was called.

I thought it was fun! But he's not to all tastes.

He puts in a pretty good show in The Tall Guy film as a mean-spirited performer.

I thought the Depression thing was a complete fabrication. He was in a brilliant film called Keeping Mum in 2006. He does some nearly straight acting. You should check this out. I know he has talked about doing a sequal to Johnny English.

I see that RA is to star as Fagin in Cameron Mackintosh's production of Oliver which is to be staged at Andrew Lloyd Webber's Theatre Royal Drury Lane from December.
