One does have to keep in mind the influence of Sim on Cole. Sim woyuld have been absolutely appalled to learn George was giving an interview !

Cole is an actor as opposed to a 'celebrity personality', many fine actors find it difficult to appear in public as anything other than a character. I found it quite endearing that GC didn't try to hide his insecurity behind an interview 'persona' as many other actors do.

I'm the cutest bottom judge!

Mr. Cole comes from that generation of actors who don't feel the need to "sell themselves". Unfortunately we see plenty of this happening in modern day movies etc.

Without wishing to appear rude and suggesting dear Captain that you may be in your 80/90s but maybe you saw the stage play of Cottage to Let where Sim was indeed the bad guy. Sim's character became a good guy for the film version!
