Margaret and Patricia were both such a perfect pairing in The Wicked Lady.

Hey Wicked Lady, that's the perfect double bill!

So, favourite Maggie films?

Mine is without doubt The Wicked Lady, although The Man in Grey comes close. I also enjoyed The Lady Vanishes and Night Train to Munich. Any recommendations?
I am surprised that nobody has mentioned Cast a Dark Shadow, I thought it was the best film performance she ever gave. I believe it wasn't very popular because her fans didn't like seeing her playing such a common character. To me she was a revelation, and also very funny!

I enjoyed CADS, but think it was more of a Dirk Bogarde film than one to showcase Margaret's talents.

The Man in Grey requires a lot of patience. It can drag a bit in places, IMO.

My only complaint about Man in Grey would be 'Toby'. He makes me very uncomfortable for sooooo many reasons. The least of which is he doesn't age!

I've yet to see Cast a Dark Shadow.

He is odd. It's odd to hear Margaret use a certain outdated word...

But I have pondered what happened to the actor who played Toby. Possibly alive?

Well, it's very possible he is still alive. But I see by IMDB this was his only acting role. Perhaps he was put off by all the boot polish he had to wear.

He does look suspiciously shiny. And it's rather annoying that he seems to remain 12 for the whole film even though the action takes place over about 10 years.

Yes, he had that same 'Nugget Black' gloss that Olivier had in Othello. I expect they both left sooty hand prints all over the place (including Desdemona, in Olivier's case).

It was great seeing her play the 'bad girl' for a change.
