Rob Brydon was the best part of 'A Cock And Bull Story'.

Especially the episode about the obsessive Alan Partridge fan !
a comedy classic....
Wasn't that episode at least part-written by the two blokes who wrote Father Ted, though ? They both appeared in it, and it seems to me to be quite unlike other episodes.

Quite agree Rob - as I've said somewhere else, Coogan and Gervais (especially) seem to be trying to model themselves on the likes of Peter Sellers, Hancock and John Cleese without realising that they just don't have that spark -
although, having said that - and somewhat off-thread - I rather think I'm in a minority of one when it comes to Sellers' Dr Strangelove character, which I think stops the film stone dead. He is fine as the president and the English twit, but Kubrick really ought to have controlled him a bit more in the Strangelove scenes, which I think become too self-indulgent.
Anyone agree, he asked optimistically ?

Yes. I do. Self-indulgent describes it perfectly.
