Default Still with us?

Hi, does anyone know whether the veteran film stars Patricia Laffan, Lloyd Lamble, Harry Towb and the lovely Dorothy Bartlam are still alive? I believe that Miss Bartlam, if still around, will be 100 this year. Does anyone have info on the current whereabouts etc of these people? Thank you

I'm pretty sure Lloyd Lamble died a few years ago - according to imbd he was born in 1914 so he'd be 96 otherwise. Was lucky enough to have him play Commissioner Gordon in an adaptation of the Batman TV series I wrote in the late eighties - something of a promotion from his St.Trinians days !

Harry Towb is certainly alive (unless there's been a terrible accident in the last 24 hours)

Harry Towb is a member of the National Theatre Company: Harry Towb

He can still occasionally be seen on television too - he's a fantastic actor.

Sorry to hear this - my original information having been proved wrong. (Apologies also for the faulty maths in my earlier post.)

Won't forget you Lloyd.

Didn't he become a miserable, old leftie after he finished working?

Since he's still working, I'm not clear what you mean. Though he's certainly quite old and may be a leftie, as so many of us are.

Default Too Good to Miss

Sorry Captain, didn't mean to be too personal. We met briefly once, by accident, just after I left the Forces after a particularly bloody tour of NI. The very brief conversation covered politics - very silly subject in a hostelry - and we both agreed to differ. I admired some of his work though, as an actor that is, but never his politics.
Pax.
Regards,
HG

Interesting, homeguard. This has turned Harry Towb from being one of those faces I always recognise, to someone I actively like

Default Face in a Crowd

I did too. It is one of those faces you can't forget. In my case, right back to Z Cars. The Army Kinema had shown Carry on at your Convenience a couple of weeks before, and there was your man, sitting at the bar on his own. So we bought him half a bitter and wished him well. Trouble was we were in uniform, and I don't think he liked that. Still, that was 34 years ago, so I assume he's mellowed with age by now. And it's good to know he's still working. More than can be said for most.
Nice to chat Captain. Give him my regards when you next see him.
Regards,
HG
