For me, Susan Shaw was the most beautiful of all English actresses, even more so than the young Liz Taylor. Sadly she died a penniless alcoholic aged only 49. She never got over the death of her husband (Bonnar Colleano) in 1958 and after that her life went into a downward spiral.

Even though she made many films over a 17 year period (1946 - 1963) and was certainly what we today would consider an "A" list film star not one of her former friends & colleagues went to her funeral. Shame on them.
