Default How are the mighty fallen

I recently felt the need to indulge my occasional need for a helping of schlock and whilst channel surfing came across an obscure little number called Supergator. It was exactly as you would imagine a low-budget movie called Supergator would be except that, somewhat to my dismay, Kelly McGillis was in it. I have been an admirer of hers ever since first seeing her in Witness and thought she was equally excellent in other films like The Accused and Cat Chaser ( not to mention Top Gun so I won't mention it ). Yet here she was - heavily disguised, not surprisingly, in a film called Supergator which was not even an affectionate piss-take - just.... a bad low budget monster movie. All of which made me wonder if other members had any prime examples of stars/excellent performers forced to wade through the cimematic sewers???:

I too like Kelly McGillis. I dunno about in film but I HATE it when old stars and celebs appear on Big brother and shows like that! Its gringe worthy to see them lose thier dignity.

We`re changin` lodggggggggings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Diana Dors. From Yield to the Night to The Amorous Milkman, Keep It Up Downstairs and Confessions from the David Galaxy Affair as well as many others. Happily she bowed out with Steaming.

Start every day with a smile and get it over with.

In directing ..... Val Guest.

From the heights of Quatermass, Hell is a City, Jigsaw, The Day the Earth Caught Fire and 80,000 Suspects to the lows of Confessions of a Window Cleaner, Au Pair Girls and Boys in Blue.

Orson Welles went from Citizen Kane to playing the voice of an animated robot in Transformers: The Movie

But presumably he got 5 times my annual salary for a day's work!

It's a fun little film but I don't imagine Powell and Pressburger thought they would end their careers with Boy Who Turned Yellow. Though at least it didn't star Robin Askwith.

But there is also Powell's last feature film, The Queen's Guards (1961).
