Default A role for no other actor

A role for which no other actor could have been better cast.

My nomination:
Oliver Reed as Urbain Grandier in The Devils

I don't think the performances of Diana Dors in Yield to the Night, Alec Guinness in The Horse's Mouth and Dirk Bogarde in Victim, could be bettered.

Start every day with a smile and get it over with.

Jack Warner in The Blue Lamp, Richard Widmark in Night and the City - both superb and impossible to be bettered in those roles.

Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard..........apparently Mae West was asked before Gloria, can't quite see her as Norma Desmond!

Stephen Fry as Oscar Wilde in Wilde (1997).
It's the role he was born to play.

Raymond Massey as Abe Lincoln in Abe Lincoln in Illinois (1940), How the West Was Won (1962) and various other stage and TV performances.
It's the role he was born to play.

Difficult to imagine anyone else as Harry Palmer, after Michael Caine.

Marlon Brando in Streetcar Named Desire, The Wild One, On The Waterfront, Reflections in a Golden Eye, Last Tango in Paris, The Godfather and The Freshman.

On a lighter level .... Colin Firth in Bridget Jones Diary.
