Default Diana Fluck

Ive been reading a bit about Miss Fluck , thank god she got rid of that label and changed to Dors, it seems she left a lot of money tied up in some code for her son to unravel, only her husband Alan Lake committed suicide taking the secrets of the code to his grave, does anyone know if the code was ever cracked. and any other interesting facts about the actress.

There was a TV programme about this a coupel of years ago. IIRC the code thing was concocted by her son and turned out to be a load of old cobblers.

Considering she was always in trouble with the IR it sounded unlikely to me.

Just watch her at work.

Particularly when she was given a chance to show what a good actress she was like in The Weak and the Wicked (1954), Yield to the Night (1956) and the episode of The Sweeney: Messenger of the Gods (1978)

I remember this programme but seem to recall that the code was only known to Diana and Alan Lake and as they died within a few months of each other the code died with them as the survivor had not thought to pass on details to the children. I THINK investigation by Diana's sons and others suggested the bank(s) was the same bank (Lloyds?) but that they had no way of identifying the branches.

Which was a pity as the missing money was really substantial. Remember her career lasted 37 years. All through her career Diana made a point of being paid partly by cheque (for official purposes) and partly in cash which she salted away. WC Fields did the same.

There's a web site about it Who Got Diana Dors' Millions?

But of course nobody has actually proved that there is any money to be found. She did earn a lot, but she was good at spending it as well

There's also a good fan site

Apparently a major factor in Big Finish being so successful in getting big names to do their Doctor Who audio stuff is that the stars, as well as getting the adoration of the fanboy producers, get paid on the day.

I think one of the funniest remarks Doddy came out with at his trial was he didn't think he had to pay tax at all....because he lived at the seaside!!

If she was a young and aspiring actress today do you think she would have used her original surname?
