Good pics,Earl. Leroy Van Dyke sang Walk On By which was written by the great Bacharach and David, who later on wrote another song with the same title for Dionne Warwick.
How many songwriters have written two or more songs with the same title?

Any reason why you have to remove these pics from the post. I am sure others would find them interesting.

Marky B, In a private message Donna wanted some photos taken during my career but I was very reluctant because it smells of being 'up one's self' and I didn't have an email address. So I agreed to upload them for a limited time so she could copy them. You said " I am sure others would find them interesting", if that appears to be the case perhaps I'll leave them on but I don't wish to 'push myself forward'. I've now emailed Donna with those pics but if anyone wants them removed please ask and I'll be happy to do so.

Earl, there's some great photos there - thanks for showing them.

I'm sure there's no reason not to share some of your memories with us. I don't think it would mean you're "pushing yourself" at all - and I'd be surprised if anyone else thought that. It seems you've had a very interesting life and I, for one, would love to hear more about your experiences and the interesting people you've met. I bet you've got some good stories to tell.... don't hold back!

I think your photos are really interesting earlb and would love to see more. You definitely don't come across as being 'up yourself'. More power to you for having met some great people!

Sorry Marky B, but I think the LVD hit 'Walk on by' was written by Kendall Hayes. Another good record by Leroy was 'Big man in a big house' which had an overly ambitious kid ending up in jail!

This may give you something to peruse:-
I was on John Peels' BBC programme 'Home Truths' just before his demise talking about the submariner mentioned in the chapter 'The highlight of my career' from my book and I thought you may be interested to hear part of that wartime interview and if you click on BBC - Radio 4 - Home Truths you'll be able to hear it if you go to the top centre of the page and click on ' Listen to the item'.

Leave them up Earl, they're very interesting and you are certainly not 'up your self.'
