yes, could nt work out wot was going on at the diana concert
I thought, is this all part of the routine ?
but he was dying a death
he was too casual, he should have had some fall back
material ready ( if he was a true pro )
it was all total crap

But Ricky goes on from strength to strength, he ll soon
be ruling Hollywood, he s a cheeky chapee,
a more hip Benny Hill..
he s on his way to the very top !

I have been reliably informed by other sources that it was the worst episode of The Simpsons. I watched him in A Night At The Museum and he was wooden.

I think the man is a comedy genius but then I also like Jonathan Ross

I've loved his material since the 11 0'Clock show and i'm a big fan of The Office and Extras.
I even liked his chat show despite the poor guests but he was the real star anyway.

I totally get all the reasons people don't like him but what I don't understand the fuss about the Di Concert.
He's not an improvisational comic. Doesn't claim to be.
To be sent out unscripted to fill time while Elton John flounced about backstage is the fault of the organisers.
It was unfair to put him in that position and then criticise him for it.

I think the jury's still out. When he's good he's very, very good, but when he's bad.....

Not the worst thing to be accused of I think. Better to have dared and failed than to have played safe and succeeded. The Office, Extras and his stand-up are all very good in patches (not having seen the Diana concert [I wouldn't if you paid me] I'd cite the celebrity boxing thing he did as evidence of his ability to be truly awful) but then that's been true of most of the giants - think of Monty Python, Milligan's Q series (well Milligan verbatim really), The Comic Strip Presents - even Morcambe and Wise had their longeurs. Comedies like Fawlty Towers and Porridge, which spring fully formed and are consistently excellent are few and far between.

I suspect the scale of the accolades is largely a measure of the state of the competition.

i ALWAYS thought that in his early pop career he was
a bit of a David Bowie lookalike
Looking at the movies seems Rikki is a big fan of Bowie
Maybe Bowie is a fan of Rikki too ?

I use to enjoy the office but now I have completely went off it with Gervais and his smugness. I just have to see him in anything and I make for the remote control. Definitely NOT 'the world's greatest comedy actor'

Got to agree. How can Gervais be as funny as Billy Connolly? No contest! How can he outshine David Jason? No chance. Gervais....bow to the masters.

I think Ricky is in New York (prob right now ) filming a
movie
he could just catch on in the states and become
the next Dudley Moore.

You mean he might have a couple of hit films, followed by a long string of flops and then disappear .... yippee!
