I think the only Tom Conway film I've seen is Death of a Scoundrel and he didn't last long in that!

I always thought George would have made an excellent Oscar Wilde if they had dared make a biopic in the 40s. I don't whether he is but Wooton in PODG could be a self-portrait of Wilde.

Tom didn't last long in several of his non-Falcon appearances. Have you seen the Cat People? Tom is a very George-like lawyer in that .... he doesn't get to the end of that one either!

I wish I had claws.

No, and I should have as it turns up on TV fairly regularly...

I can highly recommend it. The sequel is good too, but for a really creepy atmosphere you can't beat the same team's The Seventh Victim. Tom's in that as well.

I wish I had claws.

For mine :-

Roger Livesey
Joan Greenwood
Wendy Hillier
Richard Burton
Kathleen Harrison
Irene Handl
Miriam Karlin
Windsor Davies
Alfie Bass (I remember once as a very young boy in the 50s thinking how clever I was to recognise AB's voice as a character, during a radio serial)
and, Vincent Price, of course.

This is war Wilson, not Sainsburys!

I thought this thread was just about 'that voice'?

I don't have a 'man of my dreams' - and, if I did, I've learned that that's the best place to keep them!

George Sanders is excelent in A.Lewin's "Portait of Dorian Gray" !!
I saw "Cat People", and I'm very found of director J.Tourneur, T.Conway also played in "I Walked With a Zombie" wich is one of my preferance with "Night of the Demon"(....where is the 50th anniversary edition ???), also it was shot in G.B .

I love the voices of Lyndsay Duncan and Tara Fitzgerald. The latter lived just around the corner from us and you'd guess she was an actress from her voice it was so rich.
