Wink Anyone remember Paddy Roberts?

Hi, does anybody remember the comedy singer/performer Paddy Roberts? I think he was South African - though I could be wrong. Recently discovered a 4 track e.p that my grandma left amongst her possessions and it's quite funny.
Does anybody remember him or know much about him? Does anyone have a pic they could post?

Thank You

(Had to insert this smiley, it's just so cute! Hehe!)

I have a CD copy of an LP my Dad bought a few years ago - The World of Paddy Roberts.

What do you think of him Nick? Do you find him amusing also? (In a kinda olde-worlde Noel Coward way)

Yes, some of the songs have survived the years quite well. The album includes:

The Ballad of Bethnal Green
Tattooed Lady
What's All This Fuss About Love
L'Anglais Avec Son Sang Froid
I Remember Tilly
Follow Me
Our Little Village
Love Isn't What It Used To Be
Auntie Bridget
I Love Mary
Country Girl
The Belle of Barking Creek

I do prefer listening to Rambling Syd Rumpo.

From my website I WAS A TEENAGE CHART FREAK
PADDY ROBERTS
Paddy Roberts was born John Godfrey Owen in Durban, South Africa in 1910. He was a lawyer who moved to London in 1936 and started writing songs as a sideline, having an early success in 1937 with “Angel Of The Great White Way”. He served as a pilot in the RAF during World War 2 and then after the war he became a commercial pilot, but he was very into music as a songwriter with 50s chart hits by Ruby Murray (“Softly, Softly”, a # 1 from 1955), Max Bygraves (“Meet Me On The Corner”, a # 2 from the same year), Anne Shelton (“Lay Down Your Arms”, # 1 in 1956) and Frankie Vaughan (“The Heart Of A Man” # 5 in 1959). He made some albums of his own offbeat comedy songs (similar in style to Tom Lehrer) which were popular (e.g. “Strictly For Grown Ups”).
He issued 2 singles, Love Is A Wonderful Thing / Send For Me in 1961, and the following year, “Merry Xmas You Suckers” which did not appear to be followed up.
He died in 1975.

Several of Paddy's Decca albums have made it to CD......check Amazon UK or HMV UK....
He also wrote songs for British films in the 1950s....
