I came across the obit. Wondering if it was the same Bruce Purchase as the Dr. Who actor?






Bruce Purchase
Bruce. On 5th June, 2008 peacefully at home, after a courageous fight against cancer. Much loved by Sara, friends and family. Funeral at All Saints Church, Fulham (by Putney Bridge) on Friday, 20th June at 2.30pm. No flowers please, but donations to: Actors' Benevolent Fund, Freepost LON 20563, WC2N 6BR. A celebration of his life will take place later.

Actor Bruce Purchase did indeed pass away earlier this month although it was not widely reported.
He first became seriously ill in 2007 while touring with a production of 'The Last Confessions'.

A sad loss.

Thanks for notifying this - I hadn't picked this up in the papers. For me I'll remember him as Big James in the first class dramatisation of Clayhanger in 1976.
