Default Autographs

Does anyone have/collect autographs from their favourite actors/actresses?

I have lots but mostly from the Bond series.

The lovely Jenny - honestly not bothered about anyone else [unless it is on a cheque].

All the best

I've a massive Autograph book with 'A' celebrity signings. Here's a strange thing - I once had it valued in the 70's by a major Auction House in London and they put a figure on it of £1,000 BUT if I seperated the pages it could be double that figure or even more. I find that a very strange concept.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

I have quite a few, but only those signed in person are of any real value.
Note what I say on my P&P site about buying signed items.

Especially: There is a very large market dealing in signatures from movie stars, sports stars, even politicians. Because of this, there are a lot of signatures offered that aren't very genuine. Many dealers offer a "Certificate of Authenticity". These are generally valueless. If you trust the dealer why should you need a certificate? If you don't trust the dealer, why should you trust a certificate they send?

I would love a Sean Connery autograph if anyone can point me in the right direction. I have greatly enjoyed his early Bond films and it would be great if I could get a signed photo "From Russia" is the best of the lot.

Just 'Google' Sean Connery Autograph and you'll get plenty of sellers, but as Steve has pointed out, you can never, ever be sure that a signature is genuine unless you were personally present at the signing.
Selling autographs is a very lucrative business and difficult to regulate and I, for one, wouldn't trust anybody - not even auctioneers.

Well I'll repeat the warning, unless you see him sign it there's no way to guarantee if it's real. But would your 14 year old care?

Have a look on eBay - but spell his name correctly, it's Radcliffe

Another tip is that most stars will dedicate a photo to the person rather than simply sign it.

That said, the only autograph that Jenny gave at Bradford last week was just her signature but that was straight into an autograph book when a fan requested it as we got into the car.

All the best

-Raises hand- Yeah, I collect 'em, but only in person. I generally acquire 'em at stage doors or autograph events. I tend only to do one or two stage doors a year because it's so time consuming, and one event a year because theyr'e so expensive. I've got three 007s - Moore (Stage door of The Show What I Wrote), Dalton (at the National Theatre) and Lazenby (at an autograph event). Gots lots of Classic Dr Who, some personal favourites like Ian Mckellen, Kathleen Turner, Adam West - and a long list of "wanteds" including the fragrant Miss Agutter.

I bought Mrs Bat some wonderful autographed photos of Gregory Peck, Anton Walbrook, Richard Todd and Lauren Bacall. For myself I have Max, all the Bonds except Craig and Marlon Brando. As has been said, one can never been 100% certain they genuine but they look brilliant framed and hanging on the wall of our study.

Awesome!

Roger is probably one of the best signers of the Bonds.

You did well to get Timothy. What did he sign for you, was it a photo? He won't sign Bond shots these days, and usually only signs cards and books. What was he like to meet?

Wonder why Joe Losey would sign a copy of that book, I can't think what connection he has to it. The signature is probably worth more if you tear it out of the book and offer it in a frame!
