Default Robert Carlyle, possible new WHO?

Hmmm not sure about this statement. I thought Carlyle was more into film character roles as he is quite versitile. Maybe he would do it but dunno if he would stay long (but then which actor does?) IMHO

This one crops up every now and then, doesn't it?

I adore Robert Carlyle but I don't know if it's a good idea to have a Dr Who who is scarier than a cyberman.

Next they'll be suggesting Gary Oldman!

Well yes, he WOULD make a great Dr but I must admit I enjoy seeing the variety of characters he plays in different films too, that is part of his appeal to me. I can never wait to see what his next film will be about!

What kind of a Doctor would Klaus Kinski have made?

Although you'd have to have Werner Herzog playing the Master!

Tim Roth is quite good at scary as well, though he probably couldn't be tempted away from the US now.

Carlyle would be the kind of Doctor that future companion River Song talked about. The kind of Doctor that makes "whole armies turn and run away."

I suppose there hasn't been a Doctor of that sort, has there?

There have been whimsical Doctors, philosphical ones, even wussie ones...but never a Begby-style Doctor.

I'm intrigued!

Time it was a woman. Or a dwarf.

How about a female dwarf.

Little Jimmy Krankie.

Fandabbydozzie.

With Emu as an assistant.

Or ... not.

All men leak.

Recent rumours also suggested that the time for a black Doctor may lead to the actor
Adrian Lester taking on the role. Even more baffling for many, was the idea that James Nesbitt was next up, a lovely bloke, but as the DOCTOR...?????
