Harry Baird, who made his film debut as Jamaica the wrestler in Carol Redd's "A Kid for Two Frathings" (1955) and memorably played the terrified young black man victimised by the police in the Dearden/Relph production "Sapphire" (1959), died aged 73 in London on Feb 13th 2005.

Not forgetting his role as Big William, the coach driver in THE ITALIAN JOB  and his stint in Gerry Anderson's UFO.

Do you buy all the papers James, or just trawl all the Internet obits ? Whatever you do, thanks, because you sometimes bring back names we may have slightly forgotten and we can all give a smal tribute at the time or their passing.

RIP Harry.

I trawl through the internet obits. I started this habit when trying to find csat nad crew for potential audio commentaries. Sometimes I discover the passing of actors and crew myself, such as the actor Eric Micklewood and the assistant director Edwrd J. Montagne (on all the W.C. Fields feature films from 1933) recently.

My fingers are dyslexic (I'm amazed I got that right), 'cast and crew'. I deserve that. I'm the most careless poster here in terms of typing. I am working on it.
