NOW look what you've done. That lovely photo has gone.
Here's one to replace it.

Just had a look at the famous photo and although they are both smiling for the camera, I can just make out the dialogue.
Fell: 'How about coming in the marquee for some in-tents loving?'
Jenny: 'Get your hand off my bottom or you'll be getting intensive care!'
It didn't sound like "off" to me - and I was a lot closer

So it was 'Get your hand on my bottom or you'll be getting intensive care!'
You might say that, I couldn't possibly comment.

It is 38 years, give or take a few minutes since Jenny first appeared on our screens as Bobbie - not in the superb Lionel Jeffries' film but the 1968 BBC children's serial - sitting on the fence with her siblings as The Green Dragon roared by.

Coming up on Turner Classic Movies, Logan's Run:

20 May: 15:00

Logan's Run-An idyllic sci-fi future has one major drawback: life must end at 30. Michael York is Logan, the cop who escapes and goes on the run with a gal in a little green number. D: Michael Anderson (1976)

I know you've all heard it, but I had to say again that the commentary on the DVD of Logan's Run is a great listen especially the comments on how the sets looked during filming and before the special effects were added. Amazing.

Thanks, Barbara.

I got fed up with the grainy and generally poor quality of the print that TCM use in the UK - and the fact that the digital channel always seems to freeze when I want to record a film! After your recommendation, I finally took the plunge and ordered the R1 version yesterday - arrived today and it is excellent quality [with both a widescreen and standard screen version]. Will try to listen to the commentary this evening.

Thanks again.

Hi, FELL,

Excellent! I especially liked the commentary. I'm a commentary kind of gal. Seriously, I will buy a second version of the same film just to get added commentary. I am fascinated hearing what the actors, the director, whomever...had to say about the making of the film. And for Logan's Run, the commentary told me interesting things that I didn't know; of course, I'm a novice to the film and you probably know all of it, yet it's still such a perk. I'll be interested in your thoughts.

Almost forgot, I loved Michael York's reaction as he was watching the film and commenting on it. When he got to the scene where Jenny came to his room and and we see quite a bit of Jenny, Michael involuntarily said, "Oh, Jenny" and added..."I'd forgotten about that scene!" I burst out laughing.

Best,

Barbara

Coming up for US members, Jenny in:

Child's Play 2 (1990)

Darkman (1990)

The Eagle Has Landed (1977)

These films are shown several times next week and also in June, so go to
www.tv-now.com / search Jenny Agutter.

I haven't seen the first two, and it's been quite a while to see Eagle Has Landed, so I'm looking forward to them.

Enjoy,

Barbara

When you watch The Eagle Has Landed, you want to try to see Went the Day Well? to compare the two films. They are very much products of their time and portray both sides in a different light.

A couple of cracking good films. Steiner - how cool can you get?

PS You should have a PM.

Jenny would have been filming Child's Play2 and Darkman the same year that she got married, do you know?

When I saw her birthdate, I did the same quick calculation and immediately thought, "Wow, standup Gal, who doesn't feel the need to marry until she's almost 38." One interview of her several years into the marriage, said she loved being married but that she'd had to adjust to realising she had a family as she'd been so used to travelling on a moment's notice. It was interesting to note that she'd lived in the US for 14 years. The picture that's emerging for me is a different, more substantial woman than just the pretty face in scanty clothes.

She wanted to get married much younger than that but could not find anyone to marry. I read somewhere that she had almost given up hope of finding man by time she met her husband.

Finally found the time to listen to the commentary.

Pull the other one, Michael - there can't be a red-blooded male who has forgotten seeing the scene in the film so how you can claim to have forgotten seeing it live, several times, is beyond me.

FELL,

When I checked imdb to see if any of the 1985-86+ dates Jenny was on MAGNUM, P.I. and MURDER SHE WROTE matched the episodes that JLMoxey directed (they didn't), I noticed that she has three film projects going on. It says that "The Snow Goose" is in production! Maybe this has been posted, but I didn't realise they were remaking The Snow Goose.

The cast looks good: Billy Connolly, Olivier Martinez, and Emily Blunt (don't know her). Do you happen to know which part Jenny will play?

Best,

Barbara

My mole on the inside tells me it is not a remake but takes a wider look at life in the hamlet of Wickaeldroth. Jenny didn't say which part she would be playing but I suspect it will be rewritten so that she plays the part of the lady who will take care of the orphan Frith.
