Mrs Fell's school are now the proud owners of 5 signed photos from Jenny.

Mrs Fell wanted to show the children at her school reading club a film of a book they had read. Rather than opting for Harry Potter which most would have seen, she chose the 1970 version of The Railway Children. Much to her surprise, the children absolutely loved it and though it was much better than the films they usually watched - class will out!

When I told Jenny, she signed 5 10x8 B&W publicity shots from it - each with a personal message to the children.

We were both very surprised as we'd fully expected them to find it too slow and lacking in action compared to their usual fare. They even asked if they could watch it again!

Not the best weekend for me to be away with both The Man In The Iron Mask and The Eagle Has Landed being on.

At least I know rehearsals have got under way for Equus - all I have to do now is persuade Mrs Fell that we should go!

How many rehearsals will you sit thru? What interests you about rehearsals?

Do you like to see how the sets are constructed over time, experimented with, moved and changed? Are you noticing dialog changes, and if you've gone thru extensive rehearsals before, have you found one version is a personal preference to the final stage version?

I imagine rehearsals would be scene-based for a great period of time, and I wonder if there is curiosity for seeing some scenes rehearsed but not others, as if someone was watching one or a group of actors instead of the entire cast.

Do you find that attending rehearsals adds or diminishes plays? And if so, can you name the plays and reasons?

I was thinking of seeing unpleasant people perform, criticize, bitch, moan, etc. about their work, the sets, the dialog, other cast members, etc. However, the audience may never see this during the play but I'm not sure I could divest myself of those observations from the rehearsals.

I do not think he is especially interested in watching rehearsals per se, he probably means that now he knows Jenny is definitely in it he wants to go and see it.

I have to say Christine, your dress looks very fetching in your picture.

Of course, that's best said with a flip of her curly blond locks.

But as for attending rehearsals, yes, I knew such an agenda MIGHT occur but I was just wondering... maybe... what if... Wolfie's pretty good about flinching when jabbed with a sharp stick.

Actually, my questions about rehearsals could be seriously answered. I wasn't going to let affectionate agendas stand in the way of my education, after all - !

This is a very old thread now into its 26th page. The early posts date from a time when the coding was different, I suspect, or those links have now gone.
