Finally got round to updating Jenny's website, having had to [temporarily at least] remove the Splash page to try to improve its Google rating. It is also now listed in the links on this site:

Default Logan's Run Movie / Book

Having just finished the original 1967 book a few days ago I think Jenny's lucky the script turned out as well as it did for her. Book had more nudity, excessive violence toward Jessica, more damsal in distress and really not much opportunity for the character to show range. Some slam a movie because it doesn't match the book but I think the scriptwriters improved the concept (an thankfully dropped the wacky book ending and the Civil War robots) and gave her the great costaring role that remains her #1 role to Americans (with Werewolf a close second).

The new release of Logan's Run DVD last month means this is the only film that can be plentfully found in stores. The only thing it's missing is a running commentary track from Jenny that would be invaluable for a future release of the DVD. I hope that someday Hollywood would ask and Jenny can be persuaded to add her perfect voice to that project.

What DVDs have commentary or interviews with Jenny?
I count Walkabout and MI-5/Spooks.

BTW the commentary from David Naughton and Griffith Dunne on American Werewolf in London is amusing. Its like watching it via Mystery Science Theater 3000. Adding Jenny's comments and humor here would be a great future addition to this DVD also.

Jenny did an introduction for the 2000 version of The Railway Children and has also done an interview for a forthcoming programme on AAWIL - you can find that on Youtube. It was recorded in her dressing room at the Gielgud in March just before I went down to see her there.

It was a great shame that when the 1970 version of The Railway Children was re-released last year, they didn't try to put together some interviews/commentaries as all the leads and director are still with us.

PS ...And she is just about to make her cameo appearance in a Miss Marple episode on ITV!

Yes, I've seen her interview for AAWIL. That counts. Too bad it was too late for the DVD.

Were you down at Gielgud to see Equus? I've seen the 10 minute cell phone cam version (such as it is) from the current run.

We're improvished here for Jenny on TV. The ONLY American TV with Jenny for the next 2 weeks is HBO and Moremax premium channels showing the miserable Child's Play 2. At least I have the DVD - The Eagle has Landed to watch today and few others later.

I would guess that she has seen the site either on her own or via Fellwanderer's suggestion. It appears to be the most populated discussion group on the internet about Jenny and the most popular topic on britmovie. Most everybody googles themselves to see their public internet face and she has said she uses the internet a lot.

But patience or curiousity to wade through all 40+ pages and to keep up daily with the discussions of just the handful of fans who contribute? I doubt it.

Considering her quote about reviews that actually do have an affect on her career she said:

"I've done both theatre and film and the fact is if you start believing, if you start reading things and they're good reviews - you believe that and you're lost, and then you read bad reviews and you think that's true and you read that and you're lost. "

So if she has that healthy confidence in herself I doubt that whatever is said here, good or bad, really matters much to her.

I shall put them both in my diary.

The quotation is from TECX.

Default Sweet William on DVD

I see that one of Jenny's favorite films, "Sweet Wlliam", will be released on DVD (Region 2 - PAL) on Feb. 11, 2008 at amazon.co.uk. This beats an old VHS from 1980 any day.

I have to question the tag line they put on the front cover of the DVD though:

"She wears bras, uses the term 'Queers' and screws on the floors of taxi's"

Did they get the hormone-crazed teen intern to write up the packaging?
(who also hadn't quite mastered the use of apostrophes)

Think what damage this writer could do with the other films in her catalog.

There appears to be some confusion.

The Theatre has Jenny down for the performance on 17 April not the 10 April as on Jenny's website - just spoken to their box office. I'm not able to get confirmation from Jenny as to which is right and have no idea if I'll be able to. Best to contact the theatre for confirmation.

Similarly, with Haworth - probably best to check with the CF organiser a couple of days beforehand as Jenny's attendance would depend on work commitments.

Default Jenny Agutter Q&A

I have just spoken to Jenny and she is happy to do a Q&A session for the Britmovie forum. If you have a question for Jenny, please post it here and I shall forward them on to her in a batch on Friday week - although she may read them here anyway. If a question is not posted in this thread, it will not be forwarded to her.

Jenny does not promise to answer every question. She will answer them when she can as she is back filming in Ireland shortly.

In "American Werewolf in London" Nurse Alex (in her late 20's) claims to have had '7 lovers, 3 of which were one night stands'. Would you agree that she 'puts it about'? And how well does it sit with you playing such overtly sexual characters?
