D. Nesbitt was mentioned on another post-what became of him? Last I heard he had a restraining order on him or something like lack to do with a woman he was involved with. My last acting memory of him is probably back in the 70's, in where Eagles Dare; in those days any 'nasty' or Nazi for that matter used to be played by him. he was good at the job; todays Brit actors don't seem to have what it takes to play heavies like Derren did.

He was on telly a few months ago as the judge in the series 'The Courtroom', which was on either Channel 4 or Channel 5... can't remember which one it was now. He looked older, of course, but still very recognisable.

He was appearing at Windsor last week in a Francis Durbridge DEADLY NIGHTCAP and, as Gibbie says, will be quite busy across summer with plays ; he has already done 3 or 4 this year so far.
He's looking OK, still has great presence and is pretty cool. Although his curtain calls were a little shallow ; looks like his girdle was killing him ! SMUDGE

He does a lot of voice overs. By the sounds of things he does all the ads that Angus Deaton cant be bothered to do - very recognisable

Derren Nesbitt was so very good at playing 'nutters'! I was watching him only a few days ago in an episode of Gerry Anderson's 'UFO' ('The Man Who Came Back', playing Craig Collins). He was hell-bent on killing Straker, and was smooth on the outside and psycho on the inside! Glad to see that he's still doing so much work in the theatre. Pam

It'll be interesting to see what he makes of WAIT UNTIL DARK after Peter Bowles saw it off in the West End last year....
The heroine is to be played by one of the 'stars' of FOOTBALLERS WIVES. I vote they re-write the ending and let Derren get away with it ! SMUDGE

Derren Nesbitt is one of my alltime favourite actors.
He is just cool as ****. Yes, I read he was keeping his end in with some stage work. He would be brilliant as a Bond villian. Ofcourse, his main claim to fame is as the writer of 'The Amorous Milkman' |

There is an interview with Derren Nesbitt in Doctor Who Magazine 320 which covers his appearance in the 2002 audio C.D. 'Spare Parts' (which I can't comment on as I haven't heard it) along with his role in the William Hartnell story 'Marco Polo' (which I can't comment on as it no longer exists)
No mention of 'The Amorous Milkman' alas. |

I know he was dropped like a stone during the run of Special Branch as a result of his domestic issues, but like Peter Wyngarde (who also had bad press in the late 70's) they went onto become well known on stage down under etc.
Methinks Michael Barrymore is trying to do the same with much less success Because they are so much older, people have more or less forgotten this bad press. I heard that Derren Nesbitt resides in Worthing of all places |
