When I first saw Michael York in Romeo and Juliet I was totally fascinated by him. He has aged very well, and although I haven't seen him in anything except Wide Sargasso Sea, oh, and Jesus of Nazareth (small part) I'm hoping he will continue to make films. I haven't been able to make myself go see the Austin Powers series. Can anyone recommend a good Michael York film???

Hello Dee Dee

For a "typical Englishman" he now lives in America and his work rate is prodigious and varied.

I always liked him in his early films. In the Strange Affair he acted with a young Susan George, Riddle of the Sands with Jenny Agutter(also Logans Run). Accident saw him with Dirk Bogarde and Stanley Baker. Cabaret was with Liza Minelli and in Vendredi ou la vie sauvage he played Robinson Crusoe with Gene Anthony Ray (Fame the tv series) as Man Friday where Friday leaves the island and Crusoe begins a love affair with the "cabin boy" left behind.

He is a bit of a polymath in fact, have a look at his biog sometime.

regards
Freddy

Ah yes! Logan's Run! I forgot that I rented the video not too long ago. I'd say that is a film due for a remake! Do you remember a young Farah Fawcett in a small role? The film is very dated now, that's why I think it would be a great remake.

Cool

I read today in the Sunday Express, according to Al Jean, the main writer for the banana hued family,Michael York is to appear as a man who had an affair with Homer's late mother, spiking the great man's conscience that Abraham Simpson may not be his father .

Yes, someone on another thread claimed to be Graham Faulkner's daughter. She said he is working in a bank, and can't wait to retire!! What do you make of that???
