Interesting Bats - does Leo keep a lot of livestock?
...and don't think your signed photo of Maxwell Reed impressed me - I've heard all about HIM! ![]() In retaliation I may have to post my own signed photo of Tom Adams - he of 'The Great Escape' - but he's not quite as high in my Top 10 as Sam. And, if I was 20 years youn.......oh, alright then........30 years younger, I wouldn't look twice at half of these baby-faced boys now. Well okay, I'll admit Jack Davenport's not bad...............but I'll only admit that under pressure! Starry x. |

![]() I met Tom Adams once on the set of one of those furniture ads he used to do. A very nice chap I thought. As for Leo's livestock, I hear he also is the proud owner of a very lively male chicken Bats.

Would you have met Alan Perry at the same time? He's an ex-Gerry Anderson director who made those adverts for years. An entertaining guy who's always good for a story or two.

I think Jeremy has improved with age, looks-wise. (I remember him as a presenter on Playaway!)He was one of the best things in Kingdom of Heaven. It was a total balls-up historically, with a dreadful script (DC no better than theatrical cut), but the cinematography was good, and Jeremy at least looked like the descriptions of his character's real-life original, Count Raymond III of Tripoli.

Of course, no discussion of Sexiest Actors should omit mention of rural Sussex boy turned Hollywood movie-star Seth Starkadder, from Cold Comfort Farm! This icon of parodic Lawrentian raunch has twice been brought to the screen:
![]() ![]() ![]() Both versions have much to recommend them, but as my friend Elma observed shrewdly, compared to Peter Egan, Rufus Sewell wears far too many clothes! (Rufus did remove his shirt once, but Peter appeared much like this for most of the series. )We salute Flora Poste (played respectively by Sarah Badel and Kate Beckinsale) for not being easily distracted! ![]()

Ah, here’s a topic to which I’ve given a lot of thought and on which I’ve done extensive research. And the conclusion this American girl has reached is that British actors are by far the sexiest on the screen.
I’ve just read through the whole thread and I agree with some of the less conventional choices mentioned – Eric Portman (gee, I thought I was the only person alive to find him sexy!) and Roger Livesay (it’s the voice), among them. I also think a lot of actors known primarily for their TV and stage work are pretty sexy – Robert Lindsay, Michael Kitchen, and certainly Ian Richardson as the evil Francis Urquhart (yum!). I’ve always thought Hugh Laurie was dishy – even when he was being Bertie Wooster. But my top four sexy-in-any-era British actors are: Leslie Howard James Mason Dirk Bogarde Patrick McGoohan Of all the under-40 actors, there’s only one I’ve seen who might have a shot at stacking up to these guys and that’s Toby Stephens. He certainly caught my attention in Jane Eyre. ![]() Last edited by Cassandra; 23-08-2007 at 04:30 AM. |

I've met Leonard Whiting in real life several times, we used to have a mutual friend... many many years ago now, but after his star had well and truely fallen..
I remember he gave me a lift home once in his beaten up old Volkswaggon Beetle... with a crooked axel!!! He told our mutual friend that he thought me quite Dickensian!!! What he meant by that, compliment or insult, I haven't the foggiest.Last edited by Aaryk Noctivagus; 25-08-2007 at 03:58 PM. |

That sounds like the basis of a good game, if you could choose to be any character from Dickens ..... Maybe I would be Uriah Heap, because I'm ever so 'umble, sir!
