Having watched Sherlock Holmes Faces Death on Saturday,I turned to the IMDB for info about the cast and it turns out that Rathbone was born in South Africa and Nigel Bruce (Watson) was born in Mexico. Dennis Hoey,who played Lestrade,was born in London. It is also worth pointing out that Lestrade of the Yard must have had a big patch,as the investigation took him to Northumberland.
