One of the pleasures in watching 1960s ITC series like THE SAINT on ITV4, is to see the guest stars..

Last night's episode featured Louis Maxwell and William Sylvester - two of my favourites.
William seems to be almost forgotten (except for 2001: A Space Odyssey). Interestingly, his debut film
from 1948 (US title: Christ in Concrete/ UK title: Give Us this Day) is available on DVD from the USA.

Has anybody seen this?
Is it Recommended?

And I haven't seen Louis (apart from Miss Moneypenny) for many a year!
Incidentally, her real nane is Louis Hooker - I wonder why it was changed...

Had Lois been a new actress in the late 1980s perhaps the name "Hooker" would have been preferable to her chosen one of "Maxwell" and been far less of an embarassment! I wonder if she chose her new surname over a cup of instant coffee as Captain Bob is rumoured to have done?

"...the chairman of Littlewoods stores made a Keynote speech!"

William Sylvester is not forgotten here. For many a year it seemed like he, Lee Patterson, Robert Ayres and a handful of others were the only US/Canadian actors in movies in the UK.

I last saw Lois M at a Bond gig in Pinewood - she was healthy and happy. I don't know if she had formally retired by then, but she was still obviously enjoying life....

Top lady ; she persuaded the organisers to use the loot to sponsor a trainee guide dog ; hence we funded the training of 'Miss Moneypenny' (what else ?)

It is amazing to think that her and Roger Moore are both pushing 80!! I remember their last outings in View to a Kill which doesn't SEEM that long ago and they still looked very youthful yet were both 58.

LOL That's the thing about working with a good (and sympathetic) Director of Photography on a top money film !
