Hi Diane
Great to know you're doing well. Remember Alan (the photographer) and Phil (the beard) that's me, who used to follow you more than most during your UK tours. Always wondered what happened to you, but couldn't find out til I found this site.
Is the CD you mentioned available in the UK. If so I must add it to my 100% collection of your discs.
All the best,
Phil

Hi to Diane and everyone else on this thread,
I'd just like to add another word on the subject and that is I used to run Diane's Fan Club many years ago. Some members may remember me because I met many of you at various venues up and down the country.
Seem to recall the last time I heard from Diane was when she (you) appeared in panto in Guildford and I came for the weekend to see the show.
It would be nice to hear from anyone else who was a member of the Club and from you Diane if you have time.

I retired from show business because I got the dreaded ME (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome here in the States) and for seven years I was down for the count. It was homeopathy that cured me, and since then I have obtained degrees in both nutrition and homeopathy, and have been practicing in those fields.

I still sing and write, I have a new CD in soft country I finished recently, I have writen two screenplays, one which got made into a rather bad Canadian film, and have written two books in the alternate medicine field.

I come to the UK often to see friends in London, Suffolk ( I lived in Wickhambrook, Suffolk, not Norfolk, but you were close!), and outside Bristol.

So that is a quick update. I didn't marry the Greek- married a film director and lived in LA for awhile then moved to CT.

Life is good, and it was great to see that people still remember me- thank you!

Diane
Amazing to find this.

Hi Diane,

Guess what? Yes, I too had a crush on you! Can you still do that thing with your tongue? How's that for a memory?

I tried for weeks or months to copy it and have never seen anyone do it since.

Glad you're well.

I had a crush on her as well ! I bet Diane never quite realised what an effect she had on the male teenage population of the UK in the mid 70s.

Wasn't one her songs in her series "the other side of me" or something like that? And didn't Marvin Hamlisch get involved somehow ? Can't really remember - I was too entranced by Diane in glorious black and white...... And now I come to think of it, so was my big brother so that's yet another one.

Default Glad to have found this thread

I have just found this site having Googled Diane Solomon, after finding an Old Vinal album, I remember watching her TV program and buying the Album. I loved her voice and yes I too had a crush on her!
I wanted to see if I could get hold of any more matieral by Diane.
I was fantastic to find out what happened to her (you) and see Diane had replied personally. If you read this Diane I hope you are doing well.
I guess Imight be a little late for anyone to actually read this but at least I have done my first post.

Hi Diane I also had a crush on you in the 1970s and saw you perform at Bedford about 1978 or 1979. I have three of your LPs Showcase, Mixed Feelings and Take Two which you signed at the Bedford Gig. I am so glad that you are now well and performing again. I had a reminder sent to me recently inviting me to join your new fan club but I didn't take up the offer at the time. Do you have a web site where we can all follow what you are currently doing with yourself. You obviously still have a great number of fans in the UK and beyond. What is the title of your new CD I would like to try and obtain a copy Cedge

Diane - I interviewed you at the New Theatre, Cardiff, for a "live" 60 second radio commercial on Cardiff Broadcasting back in the early/mid 1980's. You were in panto with Lesley Crowther, Sheila White, Tommy trinder and others. Good to hear from you.

Default More from me!

Hi all,

I am so thrilled to see that people remember me, and even some interest in hearing new music from me!

I need to get a website up devoted just to music, and will try to get that sorted out in the next few weeks, and will reply then with that address.

I have no plans at present to perform again in the UK, but am working here with a female friend, her name is Pam Visco- great voice and she plays the flute. She sings harmony to me and I play guitar and sometimes piano, and we had our first concert last week in West Hartford, here in CT. We are working towards performing more and recording many of the songs.

I will write again when I have a website for music, and at that time I will be able to ship my CD to anyone who wants it over there!

Many many thanks- you have made my day,

Warmly.
Diane

Hi Diane

I will look forward to any further news regarding a web site for your music. How about doing a recording for You-Tube then we can also see you again. It will be like old times when you did the TV series over here in the UK. Oh to hear that beautiful dusky voice again.
