Thumbs up

During the seventies,I had a bit of a crush on an American singer called Diane Solomon, who had her own BBC show. Does anyone know whatever happened to her?

Would like to know myself too. Just got hold of two of her LP's today, already had three others. Saw her in concert back in the early 80's. Keep looking and keep me posted.
Thanx

I was sure she was a Brit.
Last time I heard of her she was in a group singing for Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest but that would be going back about 20 years. The reason I remember that bit of trivia is because a ballad singer of the late 60's that I liked, Malcolm Roberts, was also in the group.

I'm glad. They are a worrying set of pictures and I wouldn't like to think that you had a crush on her.

Watching Countdown the other day and Richard Digance (very funny man) and he made up some form of poem, mentioning all the guests on Dictionary corner, and I am sure he mentioned Diane Solomon.

Yes, the IMDb lists her as a guest in Dictionary Corner in 11 shows. The most recent was in August 1987.
She was also in the 1973 Morecambe & Wise Christmas special and the singer of the Luxembourg entry in the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest (she finished in 13th place)

Cool

Thnaks for that,Steve. I have just e-mailed the Countdown website as well. I remember her on the Morecambe & Wise Christmas Special - she was singing a duet with Ernie on what I thought was a troika, with a heavily moustached Eric driving the carriage, who kept being pulled from his seat by the horses.

Hi fellas.
Only just found this site and wondered if there were any more leads on Diane's whereabouts.
In the late 70's/ early 80's I could claim to be her most devoted fan and travelled the length and breadth of the country to see her in concerts and clubs.
Member of her fan club, so I have quite a bit of info stashed away somewhere.
At that time she lived in Bristol.
Her first TV show series 'Introducing Diane Solomon' was about 1976 so I think your date of 1973 for the M & W Show was a bit early.
I lost touch about 84 due to family commitments ( she was winding down on the live appearances then ) and I last heard, some years ago, that she had married a Greek gentleman but can't verify that.
