Michael Attwell...a longtime tv regular died on March 18th.
Fondly remembered for his performances as 'Razor Eddie Malone' in 'Turtle's Progress'.
He was also a prolific stage actor and a respected cartoonist.
One of his most recent appearances was as Doorman Derek Crisp in 'Hotel Babylon'

I'm sorry to hear this. I enjoyed Michael Attwell's performance as Bill Sikes in the TV production of "Oliver Twist."(1985) Not a bad production; Eric Porter was excellent as Fagin. For me the one and only 'Oliver Twist' is David Lean's production, but the 1985 TV series stood up quite well.

Attwell was only 63. No one should die that young.

I'm very sad to learn of his death. He was a massive bloke and I first saw him as Razor Eddie Malone, he also turned up in Eastenders a few years ago as Pete Beale's brother, and a regular in Wycliffe as a senior policeman DCC Stephens. Another of the actors that are the unsung heroes and the backbone of TV drama.

A sad loss indeed and at the young age of only 63.
He appears to have been in work right up to the time of his death.
Is there any information on what caused his death?
A very familiar and well respected actor.

Dave.

Sad news indeed. I worked with Mike on Oliver Twist and he always seemed a healthy man and was always a great laugh.
I must be getting near my sell by date I'm 66 on the 26th.

Aitch,

Hello, Aitch,

Had a laugh at your phrase "sell by date." We've been wishing you "Happy Birthday" on a thread just for you based on an April 20th birthday, obviously incorrect but created with much good will.

Best,

Barbara

That's because your profile on this board gives a date of April 20th.

Never mind, we'll have another party on the 26th

I've set myself a 'Use By' date of August 23rd 2057 (I'll be 105). Much more sensible than a 'Sell By' date, I believe.
