Hi Francis,

I hope that any written work you undertake might include your appearances on stage. It would be interesting to have your views on stagecraft. What you enjoyed most and least ............. perhaps?

If you have the time I would enjoy your memories of "Sir Leo Buchanan" in Laying The Ghost. The Mill at Sonning, 1999

If ever your biography comes to fruition; my "pre-order" will be ready and waiting.

Best wishes

Francis if you open Google search and click on 'Images' top left then type in your name, the whole of the first page is you. There are other Francis Matthews on there BUT we all know here there's only one

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

FURTHERMORE You're not expected to create a cover as that'd be done for you - I knocked that up in 5 minutes (and it shows) so no more excuses.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

Thank you DS, but I wouldn't know how to "lose it". It lost itself and disappeared from my "Google" sites. No trouble getting hold of my "death" thread tho' Is someone trying to tell me something?? Thank you

Sorry, I got that the wrong way around, Francis!
What I should have said was:

"I have brought this thread forward for Francis as it would appear that it has lost itself again."

Note to DB7 - this thread needs 'tagging'!

I've merged the two threads, that should hopefully prevent any further confusion.

Apologies dear people if this has already been posted but I saw this on another movie site

"According to play.com, there is a 13 hour collection of Paul Temple DVDs on the way. Also available in two sets of 6 and a bit hours. Presumably these are the surviving Francis Matthews TV series, since I cant think what else would amount to 13 hours
but there are no details yet.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

If this is the 70s TV series, it must only be the episodes that the BBC hold. All the episodes for the last three seasons reportedly survive in Germany - with I believe the original UK soundtrack - but nobody seems to have been able to do a deal with the company that holds them to have them released.

For EarlB & CooperS..............The issue of the BBCs Temple archive has to be just a rumour. Most of them really don't stand up in these days of violence, sex and cursing. Drama has altered dramatically and I just come over as a 1970 "Smoothie"!! Sadly some at least of the ones held in a German vault come from the latter episodes, when we were just about getting it right, but they will not let them go. Why? What can they do with them if they don't issue them?
Maybe they've rotted away !!

Hi Chevyman. Sorry not to respond earlier. Been away. What I've written so far includes probably more Theatre than any thing else.........but I'm only up to 1966 (Tho' I do a lot of "flash forwards" to take in Temple, Bhowani Junction, etc, otherwise It's like a laundry list and people get bored with the early days) Trouble is I have no idea hoow to post any of it on this thread

Francis, send a message to DB7 and, depending on how much you wish to post at a time, he'll work out the best way to do it; and, most probably, do it for you.

Default A Possible Publisher.

Although I would be delighted to see your autobiography on the net I still think that a traditional book would be the better way to go. The publisher Reynolds and Hearn Limited have published a lot of media type books including several ones on Hammer Horror Films. They have a website on the net. They can also be contacted at enquires@rhbooks.com. I think your involvement with Hammer studios provides a connection that would be very saleable. Of course it would depend on how much you would want to focus on that aspect of your varied career. This publishing house is run by fans of popular television and films. I have nothing to gain by mentioning them, but it is a possible way forward.
There are other companies which have published Hammer books in the past as well which might also be interested in a book by a Hammer star too.
Anyway, all the best whatever you decide to do.

I remember the Paul Temple series well, also recall seeing you in "The Business Of Murder." a play by Richard Harris in about 1981, either at the Duches or Vaudeville.
