Default Films in sports

Burning the midnight oil here listening to the second ashes test, and wondering about british sport in film.
I remember jack warner in the final test 1953/goal world cup film(very unorthodox, did it work ,for me no)
Do you remember cup fever with a young susan george, whether you like manchester united or not ,matt busby, george best, denis law , bobby charlton,CFF foundation(why are some of the Childrens film foundation films not available anymore?)
Is sport important in film? the yanks seem to think so do you think we have a different attitude?

I May be getting older ,but I refuse to grow up

Do we have a different attitude to sport itself?
For myself, I never take it seriously. It is just a game.
