There's an easy way to distinquish Harry H Corbett and Harry Corbett - Sooty wasn't in Cover Girl Killer.

Now I’m in the cast as a disgruntled man who has some words to say near the end of the episode.
We rehearsed for five days at the North Acton Hilton, (BBC rehearsal studios) then do the live (Audience) show on the Saturday night.
Harry H (good name) Corbett and Wilfred Brambell were charming throughout the week as were the rest of the small cast.

When it was shown on the BBC it had an audience of 23 million viewers and my name was on the credits.(Not bad for a boy that used to swim in the canal)
I’d like to thank Douglas Argent for using me on that show and many shows after.

Aitch,
My absolute favourite Steptoe episode - good work, H!

To me Harry H was a brilliant actor and played Harold with such feeling that you could almost cry with pity such was the pathos of the character. There are a few times when I am almost sure you can almost see him cry with anger and frustration with Albert and the way he mentally totured his own son inorder for him to get his own way. I saw Albert not as the father, but morelike a child who had temper tantrums if they did not get their own way, example being when he would pretend he had a heart attack, but cunningly disguised by the brilliant writing of Galton and Simpson.

An absolutely brilliant tv series with brilliant actors.

I was reading an interview with him after the second series. He said 75% of the character was just him...... but he didn't say which 75%. He'd just completed a movie where he played a posh bloke having problems with his 'ladies who do', but I can't recall the title. The magazine was naturally contrasting his rag and bone persona with the posh chappie. He remarked that he was concerned about being identified with Harold too much but said he would be making more shows after a break. He also dwelt on the hard work he'd done in rep theatre to get where he was now (then).

Absolutely Stuart.......my Sister sat opposite him once on a London tube-train, he was immaculately dressed (he always was in 'real life') plus Wilfred had small but significant roles in the early 60's Movies 'Flame in the Streets' , and 'The Boys'.

I watched Wilfrid yesterday in the comedy 'San Ferry Ann' (1965).

You can't help laughing when you see him dressed in a singlet and long shorts.
Mr. Universe he ain't. More like a commercial for famine relief.

Dave.

Default Wilfred Bramble and Harry H.....Did they get on?

You hear so much about different partnerships like these not getting on. Just wondered if anyone knows if these two actors did? I like to thinks so, but nobody can get on together fully sometimes I guess.

With some partnerships the press just like to make out people fight which is a shame. I am looking forward to the new screenplay portrayal of them, does anyone know when it is on, or have I missed it?

Creative people feel isolated, they create, they`re not part of an established functioning society!
