A friend and myself ,met and spoke to 1950/60's Beat poet Allen Ginsberg in Plymouth 1977. Both of us being poetically minded we chatted to Allen and his "partner" for about 20 mins and even gave him some of our poetry

A gentle and modest person, those 20 mins remain one of my greatest memories

Sadly he passed away only a few years ago.....

I've had coffee backstage with Antonio Fargas (Huggy Bear) - lovely bloke.

Mark Little bought me a pint at our comedy festival preview, as well as introducing me to his missus.

I've had the pleasure of driving Arthur Smith back to his hotel. I didn't like him before I met him, but changed my opinion when I did. He's very charming.

... and I've had a couple of lovely chats with Phill Jupitus (one of my heroes), who duly introduced me to Ade Edmondson.

There have been a few others (my bloke used to work at De Montfort Hall, and I've worked there myself on occasion), so I've been very lucky indeed.

I appreciate she's not a household name (yet) but I met and chatted with this lovely actress while at the checkout at my local supermarket today!

Debbi Flett whose CV at IMDB is modest at present but she's done lots of TV adverts in recent years as her Other Work CV at IMDB shows...

I suppose she has to make ends meet between acting jobs. But working at the checkout in your local supermarket, that is a surprise

Steve!! She was NOT working at the checkout, she was doing her shopping.

Mind you, I heard some time ago, that the (once) famous and highly glamorous Page 3 girl, Maria Whitaker, was now working in a similar capacity at her local branch of Tesco. Very sad.

Just what did you expect her to be doing now?

Well, I was rather hoping she was married off to some suitable multi millionaire who was looking after her in a manner that her 1980s fans would consider appropriate.

Not stacking at Tesco which rather implies she has fallen on hard times.
