He's got a lovely daughter!! Rebecca - corr!
Bobj's thread about teddy boys made me look up think of Dudley Sutton and Ronald Lacey, both semed to play misfits early on. Looking up RL in IMDb the amount of TV work he was in and he featured in a lot of the good tv series of the day. He died too young and if you look at his biography I can only admire the man even more.

I always liked her as the daft secretary in May to December (1989)JIM:

Ronald Lacey was a BRILLIANT actor - wasn't he a tutor at RADA as well ?
His seedy characters that we all saw on film and TV were just part of the story (as ever,) but he certainly cornered the market.
I agree - Rebecca was lovely as the dizzy blonde in MAY - but what about Eve Mathieson, eh ? Nice and fiery, and I have never recovered from her wonderful VANITY FAIR ; there is no other Becky for me...

My old dear used to goto school with ronald lacey in harrow middx, back in the late 30s early 40s.
He had a fantastic look and voice. I remember him mainly for being in the first episode of Randall & Hopkirk.
His Dylan Thomas on TV was a tour de force.
Saw him last night in a Blackadder rerun as the baby eating Bishop of Bath and Wells - great stuff. He was also fantastic as the Indiana Jones' Nazi nemesis in Raiders of the Lost Ark The scene where he takes out some kind of implement which we all think is going to be some kind of appalling torture device but turns out to be a collapsible coat-hanger is marvellous.
I loved Ronald Lacey ,he was great in the Avengers episode Legacy of Death with that other great Stratford Johns..both sadly missed...
A famous face on both big and small screen, usually cast in baddie or intense roles.
He was very funny as Harris (the overgrown teddy-boy) in Porridge, and hilarious as the Bishop of Bath and Wells in Blackadder 2.
Ronald Lacey
He also played 'Ernie' who was brother in law to Terry Collier, in 'Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads' and I remember him being extremely good in a TV play (On the BBC, I think?) where he portrayed Dylan Thomas! And obviously he was the mad Nazi with the image burned into his palm, in 'Raiders Of The Lost Ark'
I remember catching the odd glimpse of him in the 70s as he lived near me at the time.
On screen he always had a distinctive look.......the sort of fella not to get too close to
Despite his short life, and suffering ill health from a very early age, his output was high. He also directed in the theatre and taught drama.
Bert Kwouk was another local resident![]()
I always liked him as "the strange young man" in The Avengers episode the Joker.
He also had a role in Jason King...okay but nothing special there...
I remember meeting him in the first ever episode of Randall and Hopkirk in 1968...Nice guy...
Aitch,
He was a fairly overgrown teddy boy in The Boys (27, playing 16). Here he is, showing off one of the many fine creations of the Blake's 7 costume designerOriginally Posted by EHV_Emmetts

A very fine actor, and a pleasure to work with. I consider myself lucky.Originally Posted by CaptainWaggett

I have an early memory of his great performance in the BBC's 1964 Wednesday play, 'Who's a good boy then?'
-------------i'd love to see it again. Does anyone have a copy, or has it been wiped?
